Rev. Michael E. Allwein

Lead Pastor

Pastor Mike was ordained in 1980 and has served congregations and campuses in Lancaster, Shippensburg and Chambersburg before accepting the call as Senior Pastor to St. James in 2004. Some of the areas of ministry he oversees are: Child Care Governance, Endowment, Executive, Finance, Health Ministry, Memorial, Personnel, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Social Ministry, Strategic Planning, World Outreach, and Worship and Music. He also teaches confirmation classes. He holds a BS in Secondary Education and a MS in Mental Health Counseling, as well as a MDivinity degree. He is a Board Certified Counselor and a certified Spiritual Director. Pastor Mike and his wife, Lois, have two sons and two grandsons and one granddaughter. He spends as much time as possible on the tennis courts, loves to ride his bike on the battlefield and tries to keep ahead of the weeds in his garden.

Rev. Andrew R. Geib

Associate Pastor

Pastor Andrew was ordained in 2015 before accepting the call as Associate Pastor to St. James. Some of the areas of ministry he oversees at St. James are: Capital Campaign Steering Team, Christian Education, Columbarium, Evangelism & Fellowship, Executive, Mission Fund, Mission Support, Reconciling in Christ, Stephen Ministry, Stewardship, and Youth Ministry. He also teaches confirmation classes. Pastor Andrew is married to Christina and they have two children:  Gabrielle and Noah. He enjoys playing sports of all kind, especially soccer and basketball. Pastor Andrew graduated from Penn State Harrisburg in 2009 and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg in May 2015. His ordination marked a milestone not only for the Geib family, but also for the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as it was the first time the synod has had three generations of pastors in one family!

Jonathan Noel

Minister of Music

Jonathan is coming to St. James from his position as Minister of Worship and Music at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, where he lead music for ecumenical services at the campus chapel and health care center.  Previously, he served as Music Director and Organist at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York.  Jonathan earned degrees in music from Winthrop University (BMus) and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music (MMus).  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, biking, long walks, home improvement projects, and spending quality time with family.  He and his wife, Marian, have two children, Sarah and Adam, and live in York County.

Tom Bender

Building Superintendent

Tom has been St. James’ Building Superintendent since 2008. He and his wife, Mary, have two adult children: Jessica and Andrew, and three grandchilden. In his spare time, Tom enjoys singing in the Adult Choir, walking and running. (The children in Child Care especially love Mr. Tom!)

Karen Lentz

Church Treasurer

As recommended by the ELCA, Karen is once again overseeing the church finances for St. James Lutheran Church, as well as the finances for other institutions in Gettysburg. Karen graduated from Shippensburg University. She is the proud mother of a teenage son, Derek.

Katy Clowney

Church Administrator

Katy graduated from Gettysburg College with a major in Environmental Studies and minor in Spanish.  After graduating she worked within the fruit industry for over 10 years.  Supporting local agriculture remains very close to her heart.  Katy lives in New Oxford with her husband, Mark, and 2 little boys, Liam and Connor. While she used to be busy in the summers working on the farm, Katy is very much looking forward to summertime activities:  planting more veggies in the garden, backyard landscaping projects, and hiking with the family.

Staci Grimes

Administrative Coordinator

Staci is a double alumna from Penn State, starting with an associate degree in Forestry, and most recently earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in English. She worked for her alma mater at multiple locations for two decades before joining St. James as the Administrative Coordinator. Staci is an avid reader and loves travel, outdoor adventures, and being active. She can often be found outside with a camera in her hand.

Suzan Seibel-Willard

Early Learning Center Director

Suzan Seibel-Willard came to St. James Lutheran Church Early Learning Center as the Child Care Director in January 1998. She received a BS degree from Millersville University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She has taken numerous graduate studies at Penn State University in Early Childhood Curriculum. Suzan received her original Director’s Credential in 2008 and has been renewed twice since that time. Suzan also is a Pennsylvania Certified Instructor in Early Childhood and trains other ECE professionals in the region. She serves on the Ready to Learn Committee for United Way and the Advisory Board for Adams County Tech Prep. Suzan has one adult son, Kodie. Her interests include: dance, yoga, Pilates, watching Ravens football, and continuing education.
