At Confirmation, young adults affirm the promises made at Baptism. Preparation for Confirmation includes a period of time for study, fellowship, and service. St. James has a three-year Confirmation program for Grades 7, 8, and 9 which meets on Sundays (during the school year) from 9:30-10:30 am. Both pastors and several enthusiastic adult mentors serve as Confirmation leaders. We use the Faith Inkubators curriculum which covers Bible basics, the small catechism, the life of Martin Luther, and current ‘hot topics’  which youth of today encounter. There are several weekend Confirmation retreats for students and a special homelessness immersion weekend in Washington, DC as well. At the conclusion of the 9th grade year, students are confirmed during a worship service and recognized as young adult church members.
