ST. JAMES CHILD CARE CENTER STAFF BIOGRAPHIES
Megan Bello started working at St. James Child Care Center in February 2017. She is a graduate of Gettysburg Area High School where she took one year of Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep. Megan enjoys spending time with her family, friends and their children.
Rachel Crist started working at St. James Child Care Center in 2016. She is a graduate of St. James Child Care Center and Gettysburg Area High School. She is currently studying at HACC to become a dental hygienist. Rachel enjoys country music, playing soccer and spending time with her family.
Kim Dick has worked at St. James Child Care Center since 1994 and is the Assistant Group Supervisor in the Infant Room. She has her CDA (Child Development Accreditation) as well as some college credits. Prior to working at St. James, Kim had an in-home daycare for 15 years and worked for two years at Christ Lutheran Nursery School as an Assistant Teacher. She has three sons: Brandon, Jeremy and Ryan, and three grandchildren: Bryce, Briley and Colin. She lives with her husband, Scott, and cat, Sadie. Her hobbies include: gardening, walking, and spending time with her family.
Angela Doudrick started working at St. James Child Care Center in August 2016 and is a full-time Classroom Assistant. Angela has completed the Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep and attends HACC, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She had worked at Child Care Unlimited in Littlestown, PA for almost three years as first a Floater, and then full-time in the Infant Room, and as a part-time Floater/Afternoon Classroom Assistant in the Older Toddler Room.
Sarah Fretz started working at St. James Child Care Center in August 2016 as Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. Sarah has more than 10 years of experience in Early Childhood, working for a program in New Jersey. Additionally, she has a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Clarion University. She had spent the last year working at the Washington County Library in Hagerstown, MD. She now resides in Gettysburg with her husband and infant daughter, Charlotte.
Fred Froelicher started working at St. James Child Care Center in 1995 and is the Assistant Group Supervisor in the Pre-Kindergarten Room. Before that he had worked as a camp counselor with special needs children. Fred loves to visit the Adirondacks, and spending time on the Board of Directors at Strawberry Hill, as well as time with his dog.
Kylie Gallagher began working at St. James Child Care Center in January 2017. She is a Classroom Assistant who will be shared in the pre-school and pre-kindergarten classrooms due to the high numbers in the afternoons. She will be in pre-school in the afternoons from 2:00- 5:30 pm and in pre-kindergarten on Monday and Wednesday afternoons so that Miss Kim can attend classes at HACC from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm. Kylie is a graduate of the Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep and interned here at St. James. She is currently attending college at HACC as well and hopes to be a pediatric physical therapist assistant. She is a new mother to Aiyana who will be joining our Infant Room.
Tiffany Hinkle started working at St. James Child Care Center in April 2016. She is the Lead Teacher in the Older Toddler Room. She is a graduate of HACC, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and has attended York College of Pennsylvania as an Elementary Education major. Tiffany has 11 years’ experience working with young children, specifically young toddlers, 4-year-old and elementary aged children. She lives in York Springs with her husband Bo and 9-year-old daughter, Teagan. Tiffany enjoys: music, spending time with family, sprint car races and cheering on her daughter Teagan who participates in the Elite Cheer Squad in Hanover.
Montana McGee started working at St. James Child Care Center in August 2016 in the Infant and Toddler Room. She is a graduate of the Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep. She just completed one year at Millersville University but has decided to return home where she will continue her education at HACC. Montana enjoys: singing, dancing and spending time with her friends and family.
Amy Miller started working at St. James Child Care Center at the end of January 2017 as Lead Teacher in the Pre-school Room. She has been working in Early Childhood since 1986 in western Pennsylvania at Meadville Cooperative Preschool in Meadville, PA, which is a Star 4, NAEYC accredited program. She attended Allegheny College where she received her degree in English and Elementary Education. She has been a lead teacher for children aged 3 – 5 years. She is knowledgeable in the Emergent Curriculum Approach and connecting the curriculum to the children’s interests, needs and development. Amy lives with her husband Bill and has five adult children; Marlo, Nathan, Kate, Cassie and Dylan, and five grandchildren. Amy and her husband relocated to Gettysburg this past summer because she loves the Civil War and Battlefield. Amy also loves music (especially Bob Dylan), the Titanic and in her free time enjoys walking the Battlefield, reading and traveling.
Amie Murray started working at St. James Child Care Center in 1998 as the Assistant Teacher in the Older Toddler Room in the afternoons. Before that, she had worked at Stepping Stones (now known as the Gettysburg Growing Place). Amie enjoys spending time with her family who also live in Gettysburg. Her hobbies include: visiting friends, watching classic movies at the Majestic Theater, and traveling. Amie also enjoys eating at the Cannonball Malt Shop, Ping’s Café, and other local restaurants. She is a member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and serves on the Board of Directors for ARC of Adams County, and volunteers for their special projects.
Teresa Peake started working at St. James Child Care Center in 2010 as an Assistant Group Supervisor in St. James Child Care Center Kids Club. Her other Child Care experience includes working with children in her home for ten years and at Wee Care Learning Center for six years. Teresa lives with her husband, Eugene, and has three children: Rebecca, Patricia, and Christopher, and eight grandchildren. Teresa’s interests include: spending time with her family, “girls’ weekends” with her sisters, and building puzzles.
Angela PungLung started working at St. James Child Care Center in 2008, after leaving Burma where she worked as a mid-wife. She is now a Nutrition Aid and Classroom Assistant in the Infant Room. Her husband, Rendar, and she have three sons: David, Jeremiah and Thomas. Angela likes to go for walks and spend time with her family.
Cassie Shelleman started working at St. James Child Care Center in 2013 and returned in 2015. Cassie completed over 120 hours of training in preparation of her Child Development Accreditation in 2017 is awaiting to hear confirmation. Cassie enjoys photography, animals and spending time with her family and close friends.
Kimberly Shultz started working at St. James Child Care Center in May 2013 after completing two years of the Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep. She is an Assistant Group Supervisor in the Preschool Room. Her family consists of her parents, six siblings, and a niece and nephew. She also works at McDonalds. Kim enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and working with children.
Kathy Smith started working at St. James Child Care Center in July 1991. She is the Assistant Group Supervisor in the Older Toddler Room in the mornings and is CDA (Child Development Accreditation) certified. Kathy’s family consists of her husband Gary, daughter Toni and her boyfriend Aaron, and a second daughter Monica, husband Mike, and their two children. Kathy is an active, lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church. Her interests include: spending time with her church, family and friends, exercising, watching sports and movies, and doing yard work.
Melanie Soliday returned to St. James Child Care Center in March 2006, after working as a Mental Health Worker and Case Manager/Supervisor at Hoffman Homes for Youth for ten years. She is the Assistant Director of St. James Child Care Center and Group Supervisor of St. James Child Care Center Kids Club. Melanie’s additional Child Care experiences include being an Educational Coordinator and Center Director for Rural Opportunities Migrant Head Start and the Director of St. James Child Care Center from 1994-1995. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and many early childhood credits from HACC. Melanie has three sons: Michael, Ben, and Peter. In her spare time, she enjoys: drawing, painting, gardening, photography, kayaking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Suzan Seibel-Willard came to St. James as the Child Care Director in January 1998. She received a BS degree from Millersville University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She is currently taking graduate studies at Penn State University in Early Childhood Curriculum. Suzan has one adult son, Kodie. Sylvia “Tender” Martin-Winfrey started working at St. James Child Care Center in March 2013. She moved to Gettysburg from Georgia with her adult daughter, Victoria and son, Caleb. She grew up in New York where she worked in the home health industry, Salvation Army and Hospice. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends.
Stephanie Wright started working at St. James Child Care Center in 2007 after completing the Child Development program with the Adams County Tech Prep. She is an Assistant Group Supervisor in the Young Toddler Room and Substitute Floater. Steph has three children: Bailee, Blaine and Delaney. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Jason and his three children: Jason Jr., Chase and Olivia. In her “spare time” she helps coach cheerleading for Gettysburg Midget Football.
Ciin (pronounced Chin) Zam just arrived into the United States in the Spring 2016 from Burma, started at St. James Child Care Center, and has already completed 21 hours of training in Child Care! She has four teenage children, ages 12-19 years. Ciin also enjoys playing badminton.
